Ms. Sommersby's site impressed me as I hadn't been here for a while and it has had a complete overhaul since my last visit. The overall look and feel of Ms. Sommersby's site is sensual and decadent with the overriding theme of reds, and accents of black and orange that give it a mysterious and sensual feel. I believe her designer has done her proud in giving visitors an unforgettable first impression. The information on the home page is current and has the latest news for readers interested in this author's work. There is a stunning flash header, repeated on each page that kept me occupied for a while as I was interested in learning what it had to say about this author's home and work, and I wasn't disappointed after looking around.
All the major buttons are located on the left of the page, with some additional pages listed at the bottom as well. All links were in working order when I visited which made my looking around a breeze.
Ms. Sommersby's site looks as if this author takes her craft very seriously. Apart from the usual links of showcasing her books under Bookshelf, listing all upcoming Events, including some great free wallpapers of her book covers that readers can download for free on her Fun Stuff page including exchange banners, you can also Contact her. The Links page is currently being updated, and I did notice that the website, blog and MySpace all carry the same design theme, lending a stunning uniformity throughout these forums. There are additional information for industry personnel as well as readers under her Media Kit page where you can also read a short bio, and the Trailers she has for some of her books in this section, which I especially enjoyed and are becoming almost de rigueur now amongst authors.
What I also liked was the Site Credits page which you don't always find on author websites. You can find Ms. Sommersby's latest book, as well as her more recent books, through her Bookshelf link. Here you'll find links to purchasing both the e-book and paperback, and reading an excerpt, as well as her backlist. The one item I did notice that was out of place, and wasn't sure if it was due to my browser, was the white boxed dividers, but this didn't detract from the overall look of the website.
Being a visual person I really appreciated visiting Ms. Sommersby's cyber home as I found the website design to be very striking with all the links in perfect working order which made my visit effortless. But what I believe is most impressive above all is content, and Ms. Sommersby's site was notable in this as well. In fact there are enough details here to keep readers happy and busy clicking from one page to the next with ease. This is a website well worth bookmarking for future visits.
